I'm buying a budget PC (about $700). I'm considering the Intel i5 3450 processor and the Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2V-B3 motherboard. I'm going to use an Nividia GTX660. The main purpose is gaming. Also, I need atleast 1 PCI slot to add the TP-LINK TL-WN851ND Wireless N PCI Adapter Nic. RAM is going to be 8GB with plans to upgrade it in the distant future. All input is appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Is the Asus P8H61-M LX motherboard any good for my setup? Thanks.

Solution
The h61 chipset was brought out for sandy bridge not Ivy, so you need to make sure the bios revision can run the later chip. I dont know about expansion slots, usb 3 is so fast it has made pci slots redundant on some cheap boards as the manufacturers dont want to bolt on old legacy bridge chips.
With a speed of 2 to 4 gig nobody cares; just plug a dongle in..
The only use you will ever find for more than 8 gig ram is large video editing.
8 gig ram will run 5 instances of bioshock ultimate, 20 assorted net browsers, 5 instances of Youtube, a dozen music apps, a conundrum of bits and pieces, a video edit clip 5 mins long, run anti virus, and defrag the hdd all at the same time. Even then you will have spare. A jug says you dont bother...

I know, because a fella posted his task mamager on here yesterday to prove it. ( he wasnt even using 6 gig )

Solution
Since Ivy Bridge got released all the H61 one board still being manufactured have shipped with a compatible BIOS. It is a very slow reseller if he still has a pre Ivy release board in stock. The never bothered releasing the H71 chipset since the H61 one still worked.

Fair Do's, but yes, the asus h61 is a slow reseller in the u.k. Catch 22. You see em in the pc fair at tottenham court rd covered in dust but no one wants em cos the sellers talk shit and wont patch em if there is a prob. Yoyotech shut shop and went back to online only. Cant buy fook all in london anymore without being ripped off. Its whu I mentioned it. Guess yoyo cleared there stok now online only, but a lotta faulty asus boards there to start with.

Well in the UK I use only Ebuyer, Scan and Dabs so I do not have that issue!

That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard on this forum, There are millions of computer users in the UK and even a few of them are enthusiasts that do BIOS upgrades all the time!

That I do not know, Bricked boards are RMA'ed back to manufacturers all the time, in the UK (Europe) it is the reseller responsibility to uphold the manufacturers warranty. It is not the reseller that bares the cost it is still the manufacturer!

Spect your right, never bought ah heck all off a web page apart from 5 items to build a amd 3000+ athlon rig
from ebey in 2005. Guess its gonna have to change.
I built it to play halflife 2 and the episodes btw, Rinsed the buttocks out of intel gear at the time; 56fps on lost coast stress test. Excellent.

When the gtx460 came out, I sent a mate in yoyo get a pny 768 version for
£123.50 .. I told him straight; If it doesnt sort your video playback/cuda acceleration, bang it on ebay for £130. He didnt have to as it was his answer, but he coulda sold it 2nd hand for more than they charged.
That gpu kept his triple core athlon out of the bin for years..
