So I'm planning on building a computer in the near future, but I'm new to building computers so I have gotten slightly confused with all of the different details that I need to know about.
The components are:
CPU - AMD FX-8320
CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (120mm)
Motherboard - Asus M5A97 R2.0 (AMD 970/SB950, 4x DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, PCI-Express 2.0, USB 3.0, USB BIOS Flashback, Windows 8 Ready, Socket AM3+)
Ram - Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz
Hard Drive - Western Digital 1TB internal Hard Drive - Caviar Black (3.5 inch)
Power Supply - Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze
GPU - Sapphire 11199-16-20G AMD Radeon HD 7870 Dual-X 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (HDMI, DVI-I, DVI-D, Display Port, PCI Express 3.0, 256-Bit, AMD Avivo HD).
Case - Zalman Z9 Plus Midi Tower Case - Black (ATX, M-ATX, 7 Expansion Slots, Supports Bottom PSU Installation, Upto 7 System Fans, Tool Free HDD Installation)
I am going to use Windows 8 if makes any change, but can someone tell me if these components will be compatible with each other and if the computer will overall work properly? Also if there are any other parts I need or any additional information, please do tell me. If some of the parts aren't compatible, could someone please tell me why and recommend a different part to use? Also, how well will this build perform for gaming?

Your HDD is a laptop version, Caviar is the laptop series, 2 1/2 " drives), you would probably want to get a plain WD Black (Desktop series, 3 1/2 " drives).

Depending on how tall your memory modules are, you may need to raise the fan on the CM Hyper 212 EVO to avoid clearance issues.

A quality 500W PSU should fit your needs unless you are planning on oc'ing (either your cpu or gpu). Id recommend something from Seasonic, XFX, Corsair (except their CX series) or Antec. Here's a link on PSU's:

You might want to add an optical drive for cd's, dvd's or blu-ray.

I'm not actually using a caviar black, i accidentally typed it incorrectly, will just be using the plain WD black, i'm new to this so what are my memory modules? i am planning on doing oc'ing too, and i'm getting a LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x SATA Half Height Internal DVDRW Drive but i didn't think i needed to include that in the question, so is all actually fine then?
