Will my hard drive, work with my motherboatd?

I am new to computer building and would like to know whether an old hard drive I have found will work with my new motherboard.
the motherboard is this http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-G45-GAMING.html#overvi...
and the hard drive is a hp pavilion slim line 500gb hard drive

Depends on how "old" that HDD is, as long as it uses the small thin SATA connectors it will work, though it might force you to reformat after hardware changes.

that motherboard uses sata, check on the hard drive label if its a sata hard drive if it is it will work fine
