Hello,

I have got a new supermicro X9DRL-3f motherboard to install 2 xeon CPU.
There is problem with this motherboard which never seen on previous ones.

For every about 1 or 2 minutes , fans working with maximum RPM for seconds and it goes down afterward and this process happens again and again while there is no load on OS , even before OS starts this thing happens.

It is very strange and I afraid it makes some failure for me.

Sales person who sold the hardware told me all new X9DRL-3f works like that and don't afraid about this issue! do you have any idea?

Any response would be appreciated

Not familiar with the board but where I would start is to disconnect the fans from the motherboard and connect them using molex directly from the power supply.

sure, I did not find any solution and there were no option but stick with it , and I haven't seen any problem and server works fine. just wrong heat error and periodic high load for fans.

Hi,

I think I've managed to sort the issue out.

I flashed the IMPI with the command '-y n' at the end, reboot then flash latest BIOS. Looking good for over 24 hours now.

Hope this works for you too!

Regards,

Thomas
