Hello, Im not that great with psu's but I am trying to find a new power supply for my pc. Im thinking of getting the PNY Gtx 770 2GB OC but my current power supply is too weak. My price range is under 175$.
Im getting 4 more 120mm led fans for my pc with a total of 6 fans so I think cooling should be fine. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Here are my specs:
New GPU: GTX 770 2gb OC
Cpu: AMD FX-4100 Zambezi / 3.6GHz
Case: Thermaltake Commander Mid-Tower Gaming Case w/ 6 120mm led fans.
Ram: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM
Hard Drive: 1TB - SATA III - 7200 rpm
Mother Board: AMD 760G Chipset
Monitor:BenQ XL2420TX Professional Gaming Monitor
I know the minimum wattage for the GTx 770 is 600W. I would prefer an 80 plus gold. Thanks a bunch. If I can get a few links of some good choices that would be great.

There are heaps of good PSU's suggested, but I'd like to suggest a different graphics card. The Gigabyte WindForce edition of the 770, it's the same price as the PNY and is more reliable with a better cooling solution which will give you better performance via GPU boost.

where did u see the pny has a better custom cooler and reliable?

would like to see some proof as the gigabyte windforce comes factory overclocked and has great cooling and overclocks quite good.

how does the pny work any faster or is more reliable. to be honest gigabyte is just as reliable as pny.

I was saying that the Gigabyte was better, you must have misinterpreted what I was saying.

oh sorry, my mistake sir. but yeah for the record pny used to make top notch graphic cards and still do there a nice smaller company than gigabyte, tho the cooler is less good. also what i like is pny is usa made and i love a made in america company.

'Sall good. I recommend the Gigabyte over the PNY as they have had a lot more product in the market and have been trialed and tested by more people than the PNY cards.

Thanks for all the help guys. But wouldn't a 650Watt psu not be enough watts for 6 fans and a factory overclocked GTX 770. And i'll definitely look into buying the PNY vs. the Gigabyte.

Hi - 650 more than enough - fans use very little power. All quality 600+ PSU's have more than enough +12v amps (which is the key spec, not tot watts) to run your system wih plenty of spare headroom. A sys with a gtx 770 requires at least 34 +12v amps, most of the good quality 650's have approx 52 - 54 +12amps, far more than you need for your system.

Hi - more than enough, and a good solid unit. Capstone is def one of the 2 or 3 Rosewill series PSU's
that are solid & worth recommending.
