I have an HS650 psu from ultra in my system and I do like the modular cables and the fact that it has sufficient power for my hd7870 but I have heard that Ultra PSUs can either be some of the most stable PSUs or deep fryers for rigs, I can't seem to find out where mine lies in the psu tier list so if any of you could help me find the quality of my psu, I'd appreciate it.

Hi - That model is not in realhardtechx database, and there are no reviews of it from a trusted(or any) test site,
So, I can't tell anything about it's reliability.
Housebrands (Ultra is Tiger's) purpose is to hit a key price point at long margin for the house. Which means customers usually end up paying more than the product is worth relative to name brand items.
However it could still be a reliable PSU, just don't know without test results.
Personally, I avoid house brands on tech products.
