Hard drive swap?

I have everything installed on my hard drive (no ssd) and I will be building a brand new PC this Christmas. Will it be okay if I simply build my new PC and slot the old hard drive in? It won't delete anything and it'll just be like my old PC but with better components right?

With every new MB you have to do a repair installation of OS, so make sure to backup your important data before you reinstall/repair install the OS with the new PC.

And yes once you do the needful it will look like as you are using your old PC with new components. Good luck.
