So I was looking at cpu's to get for my new computer. And i saw that the AMD 9370 had 4.4ghz, and that the I7 4770K had only 3.5 ghz. But the I7 had a better benchmark score(10,154), comapred top the 9370's (9,805). I was wondering why it had a greater benchmark socre.

Solution
Because clock speed isn't necessarily a good indicator of performance. You are talking about two different architectures. The only way to compare clock speeds is if they are the same family, i.e., an I5 clocked at 3.1ghz isn't as fast as one clocked at 3.4ghz if they are from the same family(Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell). In general, Amd Cpu's aren't bad performers, but they don't perform as fast as Intel parts. They do however excel at price per performance. Meaning you could get 70% of the performance and only spend 50% of the cost or somewhat near that.

Sir I have a FX 9370 and my CPU mark score is 19750 so I'm wondering where you got that information

I've been using Intel processors all my life and heard good and bad things about AMD processors.Recently i built a PC using AMD FX 9370 processors and found out AMD processors outperforms Intel. My advise to everyone not to believe everything from fan boys you have to try it yourself

WOW!!!! Talk about fan boys!! Maybe you need to look in the mirror.

You said: "AMD processors outperforms Intel" in what? Certainly not in all out performance, Best vs Best. This hasn't been the case for a very long time. Don't get me wrong, I'm nobody's fanboy, but when you make a general statement like "AMD processors outperforms Intel" how can you expect not to get called out?

If you made a statement like dollar for dollar AMD processors outperform Intel you would have a point, but even then good arguments could be made about AMDs top CPUs having too much power consumption and producing too much heat without spending allot of money on a premium cooler for any overclocking.

You could have said AMD is starting to give Intel a run for their money and again you would have a good point or AMDs _____ processor outperforms Intels _____ processor and depending which CPUs you were referring to you could certainly have a point.

But "AMD processors outperforms Intel", You must know better than that!

As far as AMD FX-9370 vs Intel Core i7-4770K this link may be helpful to the OP's decision.
