In the past I fried 2 HDD's because of what I think was an insufficient PSU so I don't want to make that mistake again.

My machine specs:
i-5 3550
4 gigs of ddr3 ram
gigabyte z77-d3h mobo
1tb 7200rpm hdd
GTX 770 SC
Creative Sound Blaster Z SBX
Raidmax 850w (I know they suck)

I'm upgrading from an amd 6950 so that's why I'm asking since Its a lot more powerful.

The 6950 recommended PSU is 500 watts and the GTX 770 is 575 watts. You have plenty enough power and you will be fine.
Happy gaming:)

Nvidia min req are 600W. So you pass the quantity test, but I'm not sure about the quality test.

I assume you are referring to the Raidmax? If so I play on replacing it soon. Other than that I was under the impression the rest of my parts were of high quality.

Yes the PSU, but you may also want to upgrade to 8 GB ram. Everything else is great.

I agree with arrpee on the RAM. 8gb is considered the right amount for gaming these days:)

When you replace your PSU i recommend you consider a Seasonic, Antec, XFX or corsair(not cx series)

Depending on the unit you have,it might be a good power supply.
They are rebranding Andysons units for there RX ??? AE units.
If yours is this series go for it without hesitation.
If not I would buy a good power supply before upgrading.
Hate to see a nice computer go up in smoke over a cheap power supply.
