I'm trying to figure out what's the best processor to get for this.

I know it's low spec, it's why I want to upgrade.

Any help please? Money is no problem.

Hello... you have a AM3 socket, but the problem that happens is the HP BIO's must recognize a different CPU... determine your BIO's version and search success stories on-line with that MB and BIO's version... Time and effort comes down to getting a case and brand name MB and CPU for it, and reuse the other Componets.

Well, I see that the:
- AMD Athlon X2 340 Trinity 3.2GHz Socket FM2 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor

works with this? :p
Bios: phoenix technologies ltd 5.59, 5/20/2010

The max your motherboard apparently supports is a 95W Phenom ii x4

So the AMD Phenom ii x4 945 would work if you can find the 95W version which has HDX945WFK4DGM as its part number
and the AMD phenom ii x4 955 would work if you can find the 95W version which has HDX955WFK4DGM as its part number.

Just found one that would work I think
- AMD Athlon II X2 270 Regor 3.4 GHz 2x1 MB L2 Cache Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor (ADX270OCGMBOX)

For $30 more, you can get a much better CPU http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-945-3-GHz-Quad...

The motherboard is AM2+ which will work with AM3 CPUs.

AM2 Motherboards can also work with AM3 CPUs... ;)
