I am currently using an Advent DT1411 and I wish to upgrade the graphics card to this, as my current graphics has been preventing me from playing games.

I was told the power supply on my computer would not have enough wattage to power the new graphics card, so I was wondering what power supply people would suggest that would not require me to purchase a case to fit the new graphics card and power supply in.

Both PSUs adhere to the PS/2 form factor ATX12V Power Supply Design standard so they will fit.

I linked the wrong graphics card, the one I am actually going to use is the Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 760. Should I buy the 650w power supply if I am going to use the GTX 760?

Hi - you do not need a 650 for that sys with a gtc760. A good quality 450w unit will do, but I'd opt for a good
quality 550. Such as:

or

For a system using a single GeForce GTX 760 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps or greater and that has at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors. Some of the non-Reference Design GeForce GTX 760 cards have a single 8-pin, like the ASUS GTX 760, or two 8-pin or one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

The ASUS GTX 760 DirectCU II OC 2 GB [GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5] requires one 8-pin PCI-E power connector.

The XFX P1-550S-XXB9 is more than sufficient to power your system with that card.

I have purchased and installed the graphics card and power supply, but now when I boot up my computer I am frozen on the boot screen for 90secs. Pressing DEL or F7 to enter the menus does nothing, any help?

Your problem isn't the power supply or the graphics card.

Did you uninstall the graphics card drivers for your old graphics card before you removed the old card it and replaced it with the new graphics card?

I would also recommend a clear CMOS so that the motherboard can re-enumerate all hardware.

I uninstalled the previous drivers after I had installed the drivers for my current card.

When I installed the new drivers on the CD provided with my graphics card a box appears called GPU Monitor, I have noticed that when I play games the GPU clock, Memory clock and Processor clock are all being used at max.

You should be downloading the latest NVIDIA graphics card driver from here:

http://www.geforce.com/drivers

Is your motherboard BIOS set to use the discrete graphics card (i.e. PEG) as the primary graphics card?

Is your monitor connected to the graphics card and not one of the graphics ports on the motherboard's rear I/O panel?

Do you have LucidLogix Virtu MVP Graphics Driver installed? If you do then uninstall it.

There was a CD that came with my graphics card and I installed that, the CD is labelled "Driver & GPU Tweak"

No idea about that.

There were two panels to plug my monitor into and I plugged it into the one that is closest to the motherboard.

I don't have LucidLogix Virtu MVP graphics driver installed.
