Hello everyone, happy Sunday!

I have an old IDE Seagate Barracuda 200gb hard drive here from an old HP. The computer is one of my client's and the PSU failed in the tower itself. All he wanted done was to have just the pictures from the old drive backed up and copied over to his new tower - a home built with Windows 8 (Not sure why he chose 8 over 7, but who am I to judge?)

When I plug the old drive into my computer the backup partition (E: ) shows up immediately; it's about 4gb in size, I can open it and browse the files no problem. Then partition F: shows up without a name and does not show the capacity. When I try to open up that partition; Windows explorer hangs then explorer crashes. Normal operation does not resume until I unplug the external drive. I am using a home built with an SSD and Windows 7 Home Premium

Any Ideas on the old drive? I can't boot to it, or open up the files. Explorer.exe hangs when I try to open the partition I need access too. The old drive uses IDE, and I have an IDE to usb adapter.

Thanks in advanced! - Wyatt

When I try that I get the error message that "The disk check could not be preformed because Windows can't access the disk."
