Hi everyone. I just built my first system. I've got an i7-3960X core extreme processor and an ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition. The problem is whenever I try to overclock the system won't start properly. When I don't overclock the system seems to run just fine unles I run Prime95 which crahses the system immediately. I was very careful installing the processor so I'm sure I didn't bend any pins and I think my motherboard is fine or else I don't think my system would run normally. What is the problem and what should I do?

If you are getting over over volt errors, you are probably sending too much voltage to the CPU, which will likely damage it if you are not careful.

You should read more guides, to start. You should OC in BIOS, not use software. You should also make sure voltages are set properly, not left on auto.

Do yourself a favor and stop trying to overclock until you do your homework here. That sounds like an expensive system and it would be a shame to damage it.

OK so I just prayed to Jesus and spoke in tongues over my system and now it runs prime95 just fine. Next I'm going to pray in tongues to Jesus Christ some more and overclock it. This is NOT a joke. Jesus really healed my computer but I would still like to know what would cause these types of problems so someone please reply. Jesus is so wonderful to care about my little problems. Turn to Jesus Christ people. He is the son of God.
