Friend gave me this system that he claimed just "wouldn't post randomly one day", breadboarded just the mobo/CPU/HSF with only the 8-pin 12VATX CPU connector, 24-pin mobo connector, CPU fan, and case beeper plugged in.

Connected to my brand new Corsair TX750W
Done the entire no-post checklist, looked through the breadboard thread. Cleared BIOS, CMOS, completely cleaned and redid the thermal paste on the CPU according to Arctic silver's horizontal line guide for Core2 Quad processors. Still can't get this sucker to beep at me.
Two things that were strange:
1) The amber HD LED turns on even though I don't have a HDD connected
2) I found a small screw near the cpu/bracket when I took the Lion Square off.
