yea itll be fine. even at max load you're gpus will be using 500w. the rest of the system will take 125w if everything else is running at max. that still leaves 225w headroom.
time for a third gpu, $963 per bitcoin currently.

For a system using two Gigabyte R9 280X graphics cards for bitcoin mining a minimum of an 1000 Watt or greater system power supply is recommended. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 73 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin and two 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

GPGPU Bitcoin Mining with a Radeon R9 280X consumes a lot more power than gaming in CrossFire mode. It's at least 50 Watts per card more than when used for gaming.

The Thermaltake SMART M850W (SP-850M) power supply unit, with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 70 Amps and with four (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is insufficient to power your system configuration with two Gigabyte R9 280X graphics cards used for GPGPU Bitcoin Mining.

Since you'll be mining 24/7 you better have a PSU that is able to handle the maximum system power draw continuously without going into thermal stress and shutting down or burning out.

The Seasonic M12II-850 Bronze (SS-850AM Active PFC F3) power supply unit, with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 70 Amps and with four (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is insufficient to power your system configuration with two Gigabyte R9 280X graphics cards used for GPGPU Bitcoin Mining.

The Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850 (SKU# CMPSU-850AX) power supply unit, with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 70 Amps and with four (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is insufficient to power your system configuration with two Gigabyte R9 280X graphics cards used for GPGPU Bitcoin Mining.

The Corsair AX850 is made by Seasonic for Corsair.

No matter which 850 Watt PSU you look at, it will not have a sufficient maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating.

Since 900 Watt or 950 Watt PSUs are not common you have no choice but to look for a 1000 Watt or higher PSU. Get your local store to order one in for you.

PSU rail amperage should be specified on the PSU's label. It should also be available from the PSU manufacturer's web site.

AMD only specifies the minimum system PSU Wattage recommended. I know, from my Electrical Engineering training at University, how the graphics card manufacturers calculate the minimum recommended combined +12V current rating current needed based on actual measured power consumption of the graphics card.
