So I need to extend my wi fi from my house to my barn so I can set up some ip cameras to watch my animals from my smart phone while I am away from my home. My barn is >1000 feet from my house -any suggestions for a repeater? I've looked at an amped product and the more expensive ayrstone. Love some suggestions of others - thanks

The Ayrstone solution is a WiFi mesh - one "Hub" (mesh node) is connected to your router and mounted up high outside, and additional Hubs can pick up the signal from that Hub, provide WiFi connectivity, and retransmit the mesh signal. The Hubs can be up to 2.5 miles apart (with clear line-of-sight - 25 feet above any obstruction between them, including trees, buildings, etc. - and low interference, out in the rural areas) and you can "daisy-chain" up to three of them to get up to 7.5 miles away from your Internet 'drop' in every direction to "cover" over 100 square miles.

The AyrMesh Receiver is just a "client" device - it "receives" the WiFi signal and provides an Ethernet port so you can plug whatever you want into the network - a computer, a switch, a sensor network, or an indoor WiFi access point (VERY handy for metal buildings, which the WiFi will not penetrate).

The hardware is from Ubiquiti, who build very good products, but the firmware on the Hubs and Receivers is Ayrstone's own, very different from Ubiquiti's.

Ayrstone's products are real and they really work - backed with good customer support and a money-back guarantee. It's designed specifically to extend the network of a rural home or small business (farm, ranch, etc.), to support a relatively small number of devices spread over a large area. Not really designed for public internet access, large numbers of people, or use in town.
