Hi, I just recently bought an R9-290X to test out the Kraken G10 and mine litecoin with.

I'm having a funky problem where my display (DVI) does not detect the R9-290X unless i first boot up using integrated graphics (motherboard connection) with power cables to gfx card detached, turn off the computer, and then reattach the power cables to my gfx card. Are there any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Side question (not too important): I ordered a kill a watt for measuring power usage. Running 3DMARK11, my PC apparently maxed out at around 400W (with the R9-290X)...Am I missing something?

Thanks for all your help!

I updated the BIOS driver and the problem persists. In the BIOS, it is interesting to note that the R9-290X is detected as a "VGA-compatible device" from "ATI technologies". I understand that the card is a VGA compatible device from AMD, but shouldn't it say "R9-290X 4GB GDDR5" or something along those lines?

I had an msi gtx570 before the 290x and uninstalled its drivers before installing the 290x. Are there any known BIOS issues with the MSI Z87 G45 gaming edition and 290x?
