hello, i have a problem using my graphics card, i have updated all my drivers on intel hd 4600 and nvidia geforce 750m, but when i change prefered graphics in nvidia control panel to nvidia, it wont change it, even if i run a game in "run in prefered graphics" by right clicking and choosing, it still uses intel hd 4600. I have been struggling it weeks now and i cant find any solution, learned that installing windows 7 might fix it but my computer wont let me because it came with windows 8, im in urgent help, can't experience what hp envy 17 is all about.

i discovered that updateing your BIOS solved the problem, went from InsydeH2O F.24 to F.36
i hope this will be usefull for other HP envy 17 notebook pc users aswell

dont mistake my laptop with yours, just find yours and get the update(for other hp products)
