Ok, I'm on my iPhone and going to bed so bare with me until I can update at a later time. I WILL post. my specs tomorrow. Ok, so I've been working on my new PC for a lil while and have not been able to get ANY response from it. I had a breakthrough tonight!! I've been waiting years to afford a new computer so it's a great excitement, I wang to pay the new games b4 my parts are outdated.
Alight sorry for rambling, but anyways..
Tonight I dud the paper clip trick on my psu, with it only being hooked to wall and the 8-pin CPI connector. The power led light lit right up, perfect no flickering or anything! BUT, no matter what I do, trying piece by pics plug by plug, I cannot get it to activate other than when it's plugged into the 8-pin atxCPU connector, and the wall of course. I immediately tried to plug the 24-pin connector into my motherboard and it won't respond at all. In so confused! I will fix this up and add specs tomorrow, but any help is MUCH APPRECIATED IN THE MEANTIME. I will edit this to be better tomorrow thanks for what help it you can give any with this limited info. Again, thanks I will have more info tomorrow
BTW, Wasn't sure to put this as motherboard category since I think that's the culprit, but I put it in sustems. Should I return the mobo?

It might be a short involved.
Try taking the board outside the case, put it on its cardboard, leave only CPU and CPU fan installed, connect both 24 and 8 pin power cables and start he board by using a screwdriver to short the 2 pins on the motherboard corresponding to the power switch (it's what the power button does when pressed).
