Asus HD 6870 overheating

Hi,

I am running single Asus HD 6870 on my PC but when i played COD:Ghost for 30 minutes on normal setting, my pc crashes, i don't know what is problem, main power light is on but GPU is off so may be card is overheating
I have CPU : AMD X4 Quad core 2.6 with 7 GB RAM and 500 watt power supply..
can power supply will be reason for crashes because on my previous card gts 250 1GB same situation happen and ultimately i have to change it..
ANy help will be appreciated..

yeah graphics card fan is perfectly spinning and trying its best..
Its a cheap power supply that comes with case,, not a good one..
is it possible that Psu is not providing enough power when gpu gets load that why it is shutting down because if you play normal games like rayman origin and batman arkham origin then it works fine even with high setting,, but when it comes to GTA 4 LCS or COD:Ghost it start making mess..
