Retrieving recycle bin data with restore path to dead HDD

Hi
I just had a HDD die, a 3Tb Seagate external, which I've now read are prone to overheating. Good news bad news ... Bad news is that it died prematurely. Fortunately, however, most of the data was backup .... I have the originals of all my important data . There was some lost data which was multimedia and it's replaceable. The drive failed at 11 months and 2 weeks - 2 weeks before the warranty ended, and Seagate has approved the warranty. Now to test whether their warranty promise is actually fulfilled.

There was also some multimedia data on the drive which had been deleted that was not backed up. I see it in the recycle bin, but I know the restore path goes to the now missing dead drive. I'm afraid to click 'restore' as I have no idea what happens when the restore path no longer exists. Is there any way to redirect that data to another path? I've had no experience with this.
Thanks

Data cannot be restored from a dead drive, you will just get an error when you click "Restore" from the Recycle Bin if the path points to a dead or not connected drive.

The only chance you have of restoring the data is to send the drive to a data recovery specialist - a very expensive service.

Thanks Phillip
I figured as much, but thought I'd check. The lost data is more of an inconvenience than anything, the important stuff I have copies of. The other stuff can be replaced with a little effort. It's not worth it for me to use a data recovery service - on average about a $400 proposition in Canada. Also I've already submitted the warranty claim and need to send the drive back within a month of submitting the claim. Thanks for getting back to me.
