From Biostar HERE:

Will TH55B HD support 3TB hard drive?

Intel H55 chipset will not be able to support 3TB hard drive with full disk space.

It's due to chipset specification limitation.

Also to support 3TB hard drive need to have UEFI BIOS.

However our H55 model uses AMI core 8 BIOS.

So it will not be able to support full 3TB disk space.

If you are running a 64 bit version of Windows 7, you should be able to use a PCI(e) adapter that can use large drives though. Initially, WD shipped free adapters with their 3TB drives and they worked fine.
