hi guys, this pc has been built by me "my first ever", and i've been having this issue for sometime, but didn't care much about it since i never really use wireless. I have the Asus p8z77 -v pro motherboard that comes with wifi. I remember getting it to work when i first installed it, but i can't seem to connect to it anymore.

I open up the wifi engine and click AP mode, i then insert the SSID and password. It then says internet connection sharing and has a drop down list where i can chose "Local Area Connection or wireless netword" Pretty sure i need to select Local area connection since that's where i'm connected to the internet. I think click enable.

When i click the network button in the bottom right corner, i sometimes see the wireless network pop up, but when i click on it, it doesn't connect.

Reason why i wanna get this figured out, is so that i can sync my iphone with my ps4.

Hope to hear from someone, thanks

If you want to go wireless, you will need a router unless your modem has a built-in router. You will definately need a router if you want to get online with the iphone - the ps4 has an ethernet port and can be hardwired.

So i have to create a wireless network? i think i messed around with that, but it always said not connected. Do i need a router also? i used to have one, but it was giving me issues so i got rid of it. I'm pretty sure i had this working without the router, but i could be wrong.

ok thanks, i guess that wifi card in the pc is just to have wifi on it, and not to give out wifi. The modem i have does have the wireless feature, but i don't think it's activated, i think i have to pay extra. I'm gonna call in and see. I have my pc and ps4 hardwired into my modem and they both work, but i don't get wireless.

Thanks for the reply

just got off the phone, and it's 2.95$ a month to use the feature. Waste of money in my opinion lol, since i'd rather just buy a router instead of paying a fee for the rest of my life. But like i said, i don't really need wifi, just want it for this trophy that i'm going for on the ps4. So maybe i'll pay the fee this month :p

Thanks for the reply buddy, i appreciate it
