I took 500gb seagate hard drive and im about to put it in a new build , but at first I would like to wipe all data (including invisible files) i want it to be like new ... I already have wires providing power to hdd and sata to usb adapter , so i just need software with who i can wipe every single file from hard disk

I don't think the full format actually overwrites; all it does is check the sectors.

Depends on how well you need to wipe it. Given it's going in a new build, I take it you don't need to defend against people trying to undelete files. A quick format is fine.

Thanks, I never knew that.

Yeah full format just checks sectors. There is a program that writes several layers of 0s to the entire drive, but I don't remember what it's called. This would only be necessary if you were worried about someone getting the information, in which case a drill would be a better alternative.
