i have a primary and a secondary with more diskspace and in disk manager I gave the second hdd a drive path letter but didn't partition it, it showed up under computer ,and then tried to install a game on it it froze and disappeared now it doesn't show up in disk manager. I unplugged my primary and left secondary on and rebooted with windows 8 install disk to format but it says cant find partition and disk is locked.
how to find/format 2nd hdd that disappeared?

First try the physical part, attach cables again etc etc...
If nothing happens try entering your bios to see if the MOBO recognizes. Then you can tell if its a hardware problem or a software one.
