I am planning to get a RAT 7 gaming mouse but I have heard that the switches do not last long. I know I won't have tracking issues as a friend's rat 7 worked fine on my mousepad. Anyway, has anyone had experience with how long lasting this mouse is?

Thanks in advance

I've owned the R.A.T. 7 for about 2-1/2 years.
While the R.A.T. 7 makes use of lightweight metals in lieu of commonly used plastics, it still feels inferior in build quality to my old faithful Logitech G6.

That said, I haven't had any issues with the switches, although I don't like the feel of them personally.

It's suppose to be the best, if you can handle the way it looks.
I'm going to get myself one this Christmas and see what all the fuss is about.

The magazine PC Gamer gave that mouse 98% in print(when it was new). They have never scored any piece of hardware that high(before or since). Any many other publications "swear by it" too. Now... online, you can find a good and bad review for anything. There is so much false BS posted(Tom's reviews typically being exceptionally good thou, even if it means upsetting "fan boys").

I had one for about 2 months and returned it. The sensor never worked right and would make the cursor randomly dance across the screen. Sometimes in the middle of a game the camera would just start spinning and I couldn't do anything to stop it. I cleaned the sensor constantly and even got a new mouse pad. I would not recommend that mouse.
