I have have had some music equipment setup permanently in my outdoor garage for years now, I go in there to hang out and do whatever every saturday and would mainly play music from my laptop which I take with me. Since there is absolutely no damage to my music electronics in there over the years [knock on wood], I am thinking of leaving one of my desktop pc's in there permanently with my music system preloaded so no need to take my laptop to and from. I simply go in there and power up my desktop pc and that's it. Can anyone tell me if I leave my desktop pc in the garage permanently would the winter months do any damage to any of the internal components or would affect the pc's performance in any way please?

Yes if anything the freezing cold can help it... however if that room has massive temp swings it "could" cause an issue when it first cools off of condensation, as long as the changes aren't real quick it should be fine. Pretty much all parts would prefer to run in freezing enviroments.

Cold isn't your computer's enemy it's heat. You might even see better performance :p

There really shouldn't be anything wrong with leaving your computer out there. If you bring it back inside (from the cold) though, just make sure there isn't any condensation on the cold parts before you start it up. That would be bad.
