Hi,

I bought myself a Gigabyte R9 280X OC. Ive installed the drivers from the CD together with the OC tool.

Then later on i wanted to update the drivers, so i installed the newest catalyst beta drivers. It has all sorts of programs included, which was installed successfully.

However the driver installation failed.

Can anyone tell me why that happened?

What do I need to do to be able to install the newest drivers.

No, i didnt uninstall anything. Could the OC tool block the drivers?

Didnt think I had to uninstall anything, thought it would just override the old drivers.

Also, does changing the drivers result in the card running standard clockspeeds?

You can't override the old driver. First you uninstall completely the old drivers reboot your PC and install the new drivers and reboot again after the driver instalation. All my life i had just AMD GPU's and i had no problem with the drivers and GPU'S.

Thanks you. I will try that when I get home from work.

Will installing new drivers make my OC R9 280X run with standard clockspeeds or will it remain an OC version ? :-)

Will remain OC.Try to download from Gigabyte site the latest drivers if they don't have beta drivers will be fine from AMD site.
