Yes you can as long as you have sata plug ins. There no really minimum system requirements for a SSD other than having to have a sata connector rather than IDE(PATA).

Most computers 2004-5 or later have SATA hard drive and optical drive inputs. So if you open the side of your case and look to the front of your case you should see your hard drive, and it will have one or the other connectors per the image above.

If its a SSD pci card you want i suggest(if newer pc) it will have a required PCI express slot, in this picture it shows the 2 lengths of pcie and regular pci slots, you want PCI E(express):
