Disk manager is also unable to initialize the external drive. It asks for option to initialize disk using MBR or GPT style. While trying from MBR style, getting the error "Windows cannot find the file specified" and while in GPT, getting error that it does not meet the minimum size required for GPT disks. My hard drive is Transcend 1TB

Solution
If the drive is in BIOS then there is still some hope left. Try to replace the USB cable, see if that corrects the problem. Or try to open the case of the drive and mount it directly to a desktop MB as a second HDD (not as boot drive), see what happens. If you are able to run the drive then check the health again.

I tried this.
I'm getting my device name in bios but not in the above mentioned app.
when I try to rescan for device search then the program stops responding.
Has my drive gone corrupt??
