Poor man's AMD first time build.

Solution

Absolutely change your power supply to this: CORSAIR CX430M
It's the same price after rebate, will be more reliable and is semi-modular so you don't clutter up your case with wiring you don't need.

The other thing is the graphics card. You say you want a 7870...well get one. This one is only $27 more than the card you have currently in your build list: SAPPHIRE 7870 GHz Edition

Everything looks fine except for the RAM. Since the motherboard you have chosen has Dual-Channel RAM slots, it will be more beneficial to get 2 x 4 gig sticks. The video card is alright as well, but will struggle at higher settings at 1920x1080 in new games ie. Battlefield 4, CoD: Ghosts. Let us know if you have any more questions and good luck with the build.

The graphic card is already in my possession so I'm gonna have to stick with it for now. I've considered OC'ing with this build but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Hello,

The build is pretty good but for about 550 dollars, you can make a more effective computer:)
Here's what I suggest:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2hGAW
(Mainly, the RAM,PSU and GPu are beter)
http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=1764&gid2=1683&compare=radeon-hd-7870-msi-oc-edition-vs-geforce-gtx-650-ti-boost-edition

If you have a very tight budget, you can replace the hd 7870 to a 7850 and still have almost the same performance.
Hope this helps^^

build looks good but change the PSU. 430 is cutting it a little close get a 500W one like corsair CX 500 or antec VP-550P.
