good ips or tn monitor

Hi guys i'm looking for a monitor for most normal work, (like editing and stuff) and a little bit of gaming, most people say that ips panels are bad for gaming, but coming from a tv and a macbook pro I think a few higher ms responsetime doesn't matter much.
So I found like an ips panel with 5 ms for a good price, and it looks nice but does it have much cons?

I've owned (and used more at work) quite a few monitors over 20+ years and nothing compares to a good IPS screen. I have a Dell U2711 and trust me, gaming on it is more than fine. This one below has better reviews but I couldn't advise you otherwise I'm afraid:

Just wanted to point out a nicely priced LED monitor from Acer. I have two and they are more than adequate, also only $139 if you are an amazon prime member (I think it is 170ish on newegg).

I got a Dell 2412M (8ms I think) IPS for photo editing and it's great for that. It's also 1920x1200. a few more vertical pixels which come in handy. It's also fine for BF3/BF4, smooth and no lag that I can see anyway

mmm yeah i'm trying to find a 120hz or 144hz ips panel, and i can't find one.
I want this because i'm probably gonna buy a 780 ti and its a waiste (sorry for bad english) to run like 150 fps on a 60hz monitor, so maybe the fps will go down with a 1920 by 1200 monitor

IPS monitors are not bad for gaming at all. If you want a monitor that challenge a 780 TI, then buy a QNIX LED Evolution 2 1440p monitor. Those can be OCed to 120hz and are considered the top Korean 1440p monitor on the market. It is a PLS (derivative of IPS) monitor.
