Hi, i have got 2 processors, both showing up in bios settings, both as quad (took me a long time to get to the stage i am at)

So my PC is acknowledging the processors are there, in some ways but not in others? The processors i have are both x5355, the motherboard is my171 for the dell precision 690, model num #0f9394

I have had 2x dual core hyperthreaded 3.0ghz which shown 8 cpus in task manager / advanced boot settings (e5050)

See pics for details

Shows up 8 cores (2x quad cores) in computer management, yet in CPU-Z will not let me select another processor? (I have gone through the BIOS settings and there is not an option to edit the use of another processor on / off) And again, in task manager only shows up 4, yet i've had 8 cores showing up before)

Thanks in advance guys, hopefully i can get this sorted!

Home premium 64 bit, but the maxium processors cannot be be 1, as before i was running 2x dual core 3.0ghz hyperthreaded processors (techniqually more power than what i traded too)

Are you using the latest cpu z?

Dug this out of another post.

I7 Showing only 2 cores and 4 threads
Using msconfig, go to the boot > advanced settings and uncheck the number of processors.

Either that or try enabling them all on boot.

Yes, latest version of CPUZ, and yes i've done the msconfig advanced settings, and it only lets me choose from 4 cores :( Orded a new motherboard last friday, and hasn't arrived yet so will probably have to wait till new year :/
