PC case designed for top mounted rear fan PSU, top fan PSU purchased

Should I mount the PSU with the fan facing upward, out of the PC (I could drill some vent holes if needed), or should I mount the fan facing down into the PC? Or should I exchange for a rear fan PSU?

Thank you in advance.

Down into the pc the fan with suck the air from the case and out the back of the psu.

Plus your case and psu screw holes wont line up correctly if the fan is on top.

Yes - idewitt is correct - PSU fan is intake, sucks the warm air in the case in & exhausts it out the back. So, with a top mounted PSU the fan should face down, with a bottom mounted PSU fan should face up.
