Solution
Are you using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1? If you are using Windows 8 then you can right click and go to All Apps, should pop up in the bottom right hand corner, however, this has changed in Windows 8.1, if you move the mouse to the bottom of the screen, just below the first set of apps on the Start or Metro screen, you will see a down arrow in a circle appear, if you click that, it will take you to All Apps... now I can only assume that you have Windows 8.1 as Windows 8 would put everything on the Start screen by default, yet Windows 8.1 does not.
The "Metro" screen is the main screen for Windows 8 apps.

If you can not find and app either use the ALL APPS button(right click an empty area and look for the icon in the lower right corner.)

OR

Just start to type what you are looking for.

If you want to add an app to the start screen, Just right click it and select Pin to Start.
