So I currently have a 750Gb hard drive installed with windows 7 32 bit, I'm getting a new computer with a Tb hard drive but the new computer doesn't contain an OS.

What I want is to install windows 7 64 bit on the new computer and then install my old hard drive onto the new computer but it already contains windows 7 32 bit, I know that if I just add the hard drive to the new computer without installing windows 7 64 bit onto the new computer then it will work but it will only be using 32 bit, I'm wondering if what i want to do will work

Install windows 7 64 bit onto new computer, add old hard drive to new computer which contains 32 bit, will I end up with my old hard drive installed whilst using 64 bit?

Thanks

Make sure the new computer only has the Tb hard drive attached and install win7 64 bit onto it. When all is done and everything is working good, install your old drive into the new system. It should show up as a secondary drive. If you don't need anything on the old drive, just format it. If you need to keep some old data files from the old drive, you can just leave them there, but you may want to delete the windows folder on that old drive just to reclaim some space on it.
