Is there really any difference (in sound quality/picture quality ect) between expensive hdmi cables and cheap ones (both high speed-catagory 2, v1.4)

i want the best image and sound (will be using monitor's built in speakers until i get surround sound) for my new pc and 1920x1080 monitor. I have heard/read about how some cables prvide better colour and whatnot. So s there really any difference between, lets say, a £4 amazon basic hdmi cable http://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-High-Speed-Support...

or a £50 (now £7) hdmi cable http://www.amazon.co.uk/IBRA%C2%AE-PRO-GOLD-1-4a-HDMI/d...

also, if anyone uses amazon.co.uk and has got a really good hdmi cable from there (for under £10 and available for amazon prime next day delivery as my pc will be here this week) then feel free to provide a link:)  thanks

I had a $150 HDMI cable hooked to my TV and blue-ray player, with an optical audio out from the player to the surround system receiver.
One day it stopped working, suspicious kitty teeth marks I think was the culprit.

I plugged in the cable that came with my blue-ray player that had been sitting in a drawer forever and honestly I can not tell any difference.

I am sure you'll get tons of opinions, like gaming people that say they can see the difference between 120 frames per second and 100.

Generally, no there are no differences between the high end and less expensive ones. Amazon actually makes their own HDMI cables and they work fantastically. More expensive HDMI cables are just placebo, I would avoid paying too much for a hdmi cable as it is not necessary.

Analog is affected by cable quality but digital is not.

so which would you reccommend out of the two? the second one states in the description that it proves a good color range, and it also supports resolutions higher than1080p where as the amazon suports "up to" 1080p
