I'm wondering if it's possible to crossfire two different versions of the 280x. Specifically the Asus 280x and the asus 280x V2.

https://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/R9280XDC2T3GD5/
https://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/R9280XDC2T3GD5V2/

If this is possible, would it fit in the Fractal R4 case and I think it should but can someone please confirm it would fit on my mobo, the ASRock Fatal1ty Killer from newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CP2PmP...
And finally would I see a large increase in performance from this?

I already have both cards and I'm not sure whether to return the V2 or upgrade my psu (I have a seasonic 660 plat and assume I need at least 850?) and crossfire it.

Thanks again!

Yes it would be possible to crossfire those 2 cards, and as you said, you need a 850W PSU at minimum.
I do not recommend crossfire tho. The increase in perf. will vary depending on the game. Some games do not support crossfire.
I suggest you stick with one r9 280x then save the money and upgrade later.

the older games don't support multi-gpu because they don't need them anyways...
