-Ebay-

WD Blue, solid reliability for everyday computing. 7200 RPM. (Im planning to get this one for my if I get money build, lol)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Western-Digital-Caviar-Blue-1-T... - $49.99 WD Blue, Ebay (16/12/13 no longer available)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Western-Digital-Caviar-Blue-WD1... - Same as above, $76.99 but more trusted as the star says lol (16/12/13 price changed to $76 ($76.00), still more than 10 available)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WD Red, optimized for NAS/RAID and 24x7 reliability, low power consumption, less vibration, etc.
Drawback is more slow than normal hard drives, specially access time. 5400 RPM.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/A78353-WD-WD10EFRX-RED-1TB-Inte... - $85.94, 2 available now. (16/12/13 no longer available)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-TB-Western-Digital-WD-Red-NAS... - $94.59, 3 available now.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Western-Digital-Red-WD10EFRX-1T... - $108, as always (or most always), more expensive but more trusted, more than 10 available now. (16/12/13 relisted, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Western-Digital-Red-WD10EFRX-1T..., price and availability stays same)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 (got idea by Y0GI), dont know much about this one, but I've seen people reviewed that WD is more reliable than Seagate (like they last less, also when you ask people say you to get WD, search google to see, I haven't tested it myself so I dont know if reliable or not), 7200 RPM.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Seagate-3-5-1TB-ST1000DM003-Bar... - $66.95, more than 10 available, trusted by stars.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WD Black, Maximum performance for power computing, 5-year warranty (others listed dont have).
Drawback is power consumption (dont know by how much but more far performance has more wattage, maybe not much), more noise, more cost.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Western-Digital-Caviar-BLAC... - $80.00, limited sale, 5 available. (16/12/13 price changed to $84.75, 3 available)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/A78035-WD-WD1002FAEX-Caviar-Bla... - $100.94, 2 available.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Western-Digital-Caviar-Black-WD... - $105, more than 10 available, superior trust. (26434, 100% positive feedback, amazing!) (16/12/13 relisted, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Western-Digital-Caviar-Black-WD..., price and availability stays same)

-Newegg-

You can shop in Ebay, but I prefer Newegg because they are many times cheaper and they are official, and in that I mean that newegg (or the company you choose)sends you the item, not a specific person, so it's a lot more trustable than Ebay.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... - Seagate ST310005N1A1AS-RK, $59.99, cheapest one for 1tb, I think it's a sale, because it's $79.99 normally. (16/12/13 $74.99 now)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... - Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 (idea by Y0GY), $64.99, sale, normally $69.99. (16/12/13 Extra savings w/ promo code EMCWVWV23, ends 12/15)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... - WD Blue, $69.99.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... - WD Red, $69.99, sale, normally $79.99. (16/12/13 $79.99 now)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... - WD Black, $89.99, unknown discount with promo code GREENMD196, limited discount. (16/12/13 discount no longer available)

You can get a good 1tb HDD from newegg for around $70. I you wanted to get one from eBay I'm sure that they are abalone for $50 or so, but I don't really recommend buying used components, especially HDD's becuse they are such a fragile piece of you computer and I would trust newegg much more than eBay.

Here's the HHD I currently use, I've had it for awhile and it works great:
