I'm looking for a GFX card for a gaming desktop I'm working on. The specs are roughly this:

AMD FX-6350
8 GB DDR3 RAM
Mid ATX Case
550W PSU

That should be enough info, I dont have the exact specs on me. I'm looking for something that'll give me 50+ frames on med-high on BF4, and max other more simple games like minecraft. What do you guys reccomend? I was looking at the Radeon HD 7870, but after shipping to Canada and 13% tax, it comes to around $240, a little more then I'm looking to spend. The cheapest GFX card that will meet my needs is all I need! :)

Thanks!

Hello, I am not claiming to be an expert on the subject but my choice would be an R9 270X. Battlefield 4 runs better on AMD hardware and the 270X has 2GB of video ram so that should be fine to fit your needs. However if you were looking for an Nvidia alternative the GTX 660 looks like a good option.

Thanks for the answers guys! What if I was to drop my budget to about $150? These cards seem kind of high end for what I need, and I'd like to save as much money as possible. Really, I'd just like to be able to play BF4 on mid-high settings, yet the 270X is said to max it out. What's the cheapest card I could get by with that would meet my needs?

No, the 270x will play at high settings, not max. It is just a rebranded 7870. It is the cheapest I would go for wanting to play at high settings. If medium settings are cool, a gtx660 would work.

Man, it still comes in at 180 before shipping and tax. I guess theres no cheaper GFX card that I could play on medium with? Otherwise I'll just go with the 660.

You could get an hd 7850, but that is as low as I would go for the computer to be considered a "gaming" computer. It is good for medium settings in new games. But, don't forget how fast stuff goes out of date. If you buy the r9 270x now, you will still be able to play at medium settings in 2 years, but this the 7850, no way. It will need to be replaced alot sooner.

I'm really only a casual gamer, so the 7850 should do me for now. Thanks!
