so i am going to get a gtx 770 and i am really conflicted on which one to get. I have a maximum spending limit of $400 (includes shipping and tax as that's what is in my paypal) and i am pretty sure i am decided on the Gigabyte windforce edition but should i get the 2gb or 4gb. I am currently playing on a 1080p monitor and i don't think i will ever play on more than one monitor but i may (and really i have no idea) get a 1440p monitor in like a year or two. So should i spend the extra $50 for the 2 more gb of v-ram?

I think you should go with the 4GB version, as games will become more RAM demanding.

If you got the money to burn I would say go for it, but I believe the 2GB version is going to be just fine for a long time to come at 1080p. I have the 2GB windforce and it destroys all my games.

I hear a lot of people that say that but then there is other people who are saying games like Hitman absoulution and BF4 at 1080p are using almost or over 2gb with the filters turned all the way up and what not

BF4 sits around 80-90 fps whenever nothing is going on. In the more intense battles it drops to low 50s, never below 50. That is all on ultra settings.

Works for me :p

Like I said, if you got the cash go for the 4GB, but I think by the time that much vram is truly useful it will probably be time to upgrade again anyways lol.

Have not played hitman, so cannot comment.

My recommendation is just to save 100$ and buy a 780. A 4gb 770 is kind of pointless with the recent drops to the 780 IMO.

You probably wont need the 4gb model now, but if you are looking to stick with this card for a while i would suggest to just spend a little extra and get the 4gb model just in case you ever want to run more monitors, or get a higher resolution monitor. Games will also start to use more VRam so it is nice to have extra.

Actually i just looked at it and it is $100 more... Didn't think it would be that much. Get the 4gb model if you for sure want to get a 770. But i would suggest to save that $100 and spend it towards a 780.
