Hi;
After running my computer build for about 2 weeks my computer froze when I inserted a camera SD memory card for the first time and tried to print several pictures. I turned it off with the power button turned it on again and was able to boot up and print the pictures but then shortly after got the BSOD. I shut down and restarted in safe mode and went to an earlier restore point. I shut it down and restarted in Normal mode but in just a few minutes got the BSOD again. I shut down and when I tried to boot up again in safe mode windows 7 home premium got to the welcome screen and the BSOD came up. I tried several more times but got the BSOD before windows could fully boot. The card reader is part of the Rosewill 5.25" 2 port USB3.0/4 port USB2.0/eSATA Multi-in-1 Internal card reader. I had used several of the USB ports during the 2 weeks with no problem. I disconnected everything from the Rosewill and was still notable to boot up.

my upgrade of a previous build with a new motherboard, new CPU, new RAM and new SSD hard drive. Ran it for about 2 weeks before BSOD.
BIOS icon screen comes up and settings can be accessed with delete key but Windows will not bootup fully.I see the 4 color icon and the welcome and then the BSOD

Thunderbird
Adobe reader X
Open Office 4.0.1

What is the actual error? That will give an idea of where to start troubleshooting.

Also, try booting in Safe Mode. That will boot Windows with the minimum drivers and services necessary, and if it bluescreens there, it is likely a hardware problem.

It did show the 4 color Windows icon and the welcome screen before giving me the BSOD. The error code was 0.x6b

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I downloaded Linux Mint to a dvd and used it to format the SSD and then was able to clean install Windows 7 based on a solution provided by LynnCummings on the Microsoft site. See; "Cannot boot to any Windows media -- BIOS, Linux OK."
