Hey everyone, i've been experiencing some fps problems in bf4 since I started playing, im starting to worry that either this game is extremely hard on my system or i'm getting some bottleneck from my cpu. So my specs are an i5 3570k OC'ed to 4.2 ghz and a gtx 690, along with 8gb of ram. I have never had a problem with blowing games out of the water fps wise while they're maxed out, and even in bf3 I got excellent fps, but on this game I will frequently drop to 40-50 fps when i'm in the action online. This leads me to believe my cpu is finally starting to hold some my fps back. When i was in the market for a processor I figured i would never benefit from the extra 4 virtual cores provided by an i7, but has this game proved me wrong? If anyone could enlighten me on this i'd appreciate it, thanks in advance :)

The virtual cores of hyper threading will do nothing for you in gaming since games don't make use of hyper threading. Unless you are going to use your computer for both gaming and something that actually uses hyper threading the I7 is a waste, you would be fine with an I5.

I think Clutchc is right. An I5 will not bottleneck a modern video card. My guess is it is either the video card drivers or the game itself.
