This is the best I could find for that price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

*I recommend you also get START8 and disable the Charms Bar in the desktop etc. Windows 8 is superior to W7 in many ways but I dislike the new interface and like the Start Menu. For $5 Start8 solves makes W8 like W7 for the interface.

The GRAPHICS CARD is usually the weakest link in these systems, so you want an HD7750 or equivalent GTX650 card as a minimum.

I found systems with better CPU's but worse graphics cards. Also avoid APU's.

Just for fun, I'll put together my own build for $630 from pcpartspicker, feel free to ignore it.

Just for FUN, here's my BUILD at $620 (not sure what Shipping would be): http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2hTCx

To COMPARE that to the pre-built:
- same CPU
- better graphics card on my build (slightly)
- better quality MOTHERBOARD, Power Supply, probably better DDR3 memory.
- *my PSU (Antec) has a 1x6-pin and another 1x6/8-pin connector (otherwise you have to change the Power Supply if you upgrade the graphics card as in the pre-built).

There are a few advantages to building your own:
- rewarding
- Warranty with individual parts
- can be a huge hassle to send entire PC back for a Warranty issue (like graphics card not working)

Obviously the pre-built is less initial hassle, especially as Windows is pre-installed.

Cheers.
