The i5 4430 is priced the same as the fx 8350 but gives better performance in gaming. But the FX 8350 is overclockable if i choose to buy a aftermarket cooler.
Not exactly sure which one to get.

I'm also worried that the LGA 1150 socket may become pointless when the new intel processors come out which is apparently a different socket..

The i5 4430 doesn't over clock if over-clocking is part of your plan go with the i5-4760K MicroCenter has those for $199, or you could go Ivy Bridge i5-3570K $179.99, and the AMD FX 8350 for $179.99 but those prices are for in store pick-up.

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is been a popular after market CPU Cooler. Which should fit any of those models.

The Broadwell will be out late next year...

The Broadwell will be out late next year and will be running on the LGA1150 socket. There will be a new chipset for them and those motherboards should be backward compatible to Haswell.

Hi,
I put together a build from pcpartpicker (canada) but unfortunately since a few things were more expensive compared to USA prices ($30 more for DDR3 RAM!) I didn't have much left over for a good video card.

I looked over my list to see what I could reduce, but then decided that was a job you could do (in conjunction with customer reviews). Save $30 on the motherboard or $20 on the Power Supply?

I have a CPU cooler in there as well for $30 and the case is basically a place holder though it's a fine case.

I finally just included the ASUS GTX760 which made me go over the build price by about $90 but otherwise I had to get a much cheaper card.

(I do recommend W8 64-bit, but also Start8 from Stardock for $5)

Hey not good to cheap on power supply as it could damage other components
