Hi everyone, my first post. Thanks in advance.

I've been a Company of Heroes fan for many years and have played the game online via Steam since last year. I had zero issues running this on my old Dell XPS 410 desktop (4mb ram) running Windows XP and a GEForce 7900 graphics card.

I recently picked up a new Dell Inspiron 660 mini tower (12mb ram i5 processor running Windows 8.1) and couldn't run the game (terrible graphics, pixelated, etc). After a bit of research, I determined the 300w power supply in the Inspiron limited my graphics card choices. So I just installed a Sapphire HD 7750, installed the latest drivers, and the graphics and game play is nearly as terrible as with the stock graphics card (1920 x 1080).

How can a 7-year old computer, OS and graphics card with a fraction of the ram out perform this new machine? What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks from TX!

My 2 cents is your windows 8 is the culprit. The game was highly optimized for windows xp n vistabut 8 having minor differences is proably having comptability issuses. Might I suggest running in compatability mode n select either xp or win 7. Lastly wht resolution did u game on while you had your old system?

Thanks for the note, Caj! I don't think you can run 8.1 in XP mode. I believe I was running the game in the same resolution. BTW, I think I may have figured something out. After doing a bit more research on the subject using the correct term/phrase "only seeing shadows," I have adjusted the detail in the COH settings back to high (not in "options" but in "settings in the main menu). The game is now working and all graphic elements are appearing. However, the problem now is with the mouse pointer and scrolling. It seems you can't always push the mouse pointer off screen to navigate to a new location on the map. The mouse will disappear for awhile and then you eventually may be able to scroll. I'm looking into a few fixes for that.

One more question for you. The Sapphire graphics card didn't fit very well on my board. My Inspiron 660 is a mini tower. For some reason on the card, the end with the monitor port was too "short" in length to run across the entire slot on my desktop. I had to modify the graphics card by bending the slot seating tabs out of the way to fit through the slot on the back of the case. I never knew there were different sized graphics cards. I'm a bit rusty though... any insight would be great. Thanks, man.

Found something that I think fixed the problem. Solution #2 worked for me (alt + tab).

There are few ways you can solve or minimize the Clicking left of screen bug/glitch in Company Of Heroes 2. I will explain the solution to fix the bug/glitch in detail.

Most Recommended Solution for Clicking Left Of Screen Glitch

The problem can be occurring due to the use of tilde key " ~ " . If you use this key you will notice that you can not select or give commands to your selected units in that area of the map.

Second Recommended Solution for Clicking Left Of Screen Glitch/Bug

Try minimizing and maximizing the Company of Heroes 2 video game window by pressing Alt+Tab or Alt+Enter (Windowed Mode). It maybe possible the problem is occurring due to Windowed Mode.

Third Recommended Solution for Clicking Left Of Screen Glitch

This Company Of Heroes 2 glitch usually occur on snow maps or blizzard maps.

Fourth Recommended Solution for Clicking Left Of Screen Glitch

Try Changing the compatibility mode of Company Of Heroes 2 to different operating system.
To do this right click on game binary (.exe) and under compatibility mode choose your desired one.
