I purchased a USB audio adapter as my onboard audio inputs are currently broken and probably need re-soldered. After plugging the device in and installing the drivers my speakers no longer work on my laptop, I've tried re-installing the manufactures drivers, using the normal realtek drivers and tried changing the default device back and forth and nothing works. The USB audio adapter broke today and I'm now without sound. Any ideas as to what I can do to fix this?

Uninstall the USB drivers/software, it may still have hooks to the audio
