*Disclaimer* I'm not exactly sure of the specs of my old computer. He lived over 1.5 hours away from me, and no one is computer literate to tell me the exact stuff.

I need to buy a replacement GPU for my nephew's computer for Christmas. It is one of my old computers, I'm not sure what to get him, as I do not want to bottleneck a GPU, and overpay for something he can't fully utilize.

Right now, I can't exactly remember what he has. It is the ATI Sapphire Vapor-X HD 4800 series. (I'm not 100% sure) It does NOT have an HMDI port, so it may be a lower number model than that I was thinking it was the 4850, but that has an HMDI port on it. (I'm 99.99% sure it doesn't)

Anyway, he has 4 GB of Corsair RAM. It is the old school RAM as I tried putting some of my Corsair Vengenace RAM that I bought for my new computer in Feb 2013, and it doesn't fit. (Again, not sure of the mobo, except it is an ASUS)

He has a decent quad core CPU. I can't remember the exact model with a Thermaltake V1 on it.

I'm pretty sure it is a PCE 2.0 Xpress slot, but i'm not sure. Anyway, I know 100% is it the Sapphire Vapor-X HD model. It is roughly bought in 2009/2010 I think if that helps.

Anyway, it runs all games fine, except Battlefield 4, which it gets an error. It still plays it, but I can't remember what error it gets. He wants a new graphics card anyway.

I'm not looking at ATI, only Nvidia. I really like Nvidia, and their new programs like Geforce experience, and etc, which will hep him auto customize games since he is only 10 years old.

I was looking at the GT 630, GT 640, and GTX 650. (I'm looking at all models $119 and below)

I'm not sure about which brand, as I haven't decided on which model which factors in which one performed better on a certain brand not taken into account.

Again, I want most bang for my buck, and not bottleneck.

Thanks!

(On a funny note, it has the old hard drive flat ribbon connectors) Good system though, had no trouble out of it ever except replacing the original GPU to the ATI sapphire, and the thermaltake V1 replaced once.

A GT610 would be a waste of money if you are looking for a gaming video card.

Find out the exact specs of the system, you have a bunch of semi-info but nothing that anyone can use to recommend anything except the age of the system. It's like saying to a mechanic, well, I need a new engine for for my car, it may be a 6 cylinder or a 4, or a turbo, but maybe not. I do know it has tires on it and some doors and is...

It doesn't have an HDMI port on it, so it is one of the lot lower ones. I think I may just get a GT 610 and call it a day. There are 1 and 2 GB options, and may go for the 2 GB since it is only a little bit more. Anything lower than the GT 610 cost the same or more than the 610, so i think that may be the safest bet.

I think it's a Honda but don't know the model or exact year of manufacture.

For something cheap that is still an OK card for gaming and will have all the latest video standards and won't get bottlenecked too bad by an older CPU or a low power power supply, Radeon 7750.
