I'm looking to upgrade my PC after having built it two years ago. When I built it I didn't know to much about computers and that really hasn't changed much. Originally I wanted to be able to play games and edit videos with it, so far it's done that pretty well. I would like to start working towards making a build that is suited more for editing and graphic design than playing games on.

Currently this is what I've been using
Motherboard: ASRock H67M
CPU: Intel i5 2400
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 ti
PSU: Ultra 750w
Memory: 8gb of G. Skill
Case: Phantom NZXT full size
Hard Drives: Vector OCZ 128gb SSD and Western Digital 500gb HDD
I don't think I forgot anything there but feel free to let me know if I have.

I want to further my knowledge in editing programs and start using more advanced programs, such as Avid and Nuke. After searching the avid website I managed to find the specs they recommend for their program.

http://www.avid.com/US/products/media-composer#specifications

I couldn't find any specs on what is recommended for Nuke on the companies website. I'm not worried about that at the moment though, seeing as the program is so expensive and I currently have After Effects I can use for the time being.

I'm not sure exactly what I should be getting to get towards the specs of the programs. So if anyone has anything they can recommend or on how to make sure everything is compatible I would greatly appreciate it. And If at all possible I would like to see if any parts for the upgrade would be compatible with the current parts I have, to build it over a period of time and still improve performance of what I have.

If you're going to oveclock, get a cooling system like the Corsair H100 or H100i. The rest of your build is fine but if your not overclocking, get a CM Hyper Evo 212, but you'll probably need low profile RAM if you're getting the Vengeance, but if you're going to get the G-Skill, the RAM clearance will be fine

I can afford it right now. Is everything else alright though? I'm not the best at making builds and stuff like that. Also I always hear people talking about and recommending Corsair Vengeance RAM and should I try to get 16gb of that over what I chose?

Edit: This is off topic a little but do cooling systems really help overall performance?
