I am looking to install a graphics card that can handle Minecraft on an Optiplex 780 DT I picked up - runs VISTA 32-bit and has 4 GB RAM. Ready to purchase/order hardware so it can be ready for xmas. I am budget concious, so prefer to keep the total bill under USD $200.

I've researched a bit and understand there is limited space inside. I understand I may need to upgrade the power supply as well.

I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the info and factors to consider - does anyone have a blueprint for a successful install?

VisionTek RADEON X1300 DMS59 graphics card - Radeon X1300 - 256 MB

From Minecraft/Mojang:

Recommended Requirements:
CPU : Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz
RAM : 4GB
GPU : GeForce 6xxx or ATI Radeon 9xxx and up with OpenGL 2.1 Support (Excluding Integrated Chipsets)
HDD : 150MB

which, based on my understanding of OpenGL, rules out either of Dell's suggestions :ange:

Scrapped this upgrade and took an HP Compaq 7700 (XP - maxed at 3 gig RAM) and threw in a ASUS Radeon HD5450 512MD2/LP - voila! My daughter will now be able to play MineCrack during the holidays.
